Sligachan

The stunningly beautiful Sligachan is in the heart of Skye on the east coast, just by the main A87 road. The old bridge standing there is a stunning example of engineering designed to withstand the rugged terrain. Also, this sturdy structure has been standing since before 1820 and is still going strong today. Framed perfectly by Cuillin Mountain in front with its signature red sandstone cliffs behind them!

The great outdoors has never looked so good! If you’re up for an adventurous walk, there are loads of opportunities to explore the local area. For just a 10-minute walk, the breathtaking views are enough to make you feel like you are in the wilderness, surrounded on either side by towering mountains. Hiking is a fantastic way to get some fresh air and enjoy nature. With that, there’s an endless amount of hiking trails available in this area, in which you’ll never run out of!

For visitors who don’t want to climb up several thousand steps, Sligachan has a central base and great facilities for kids. There’s even an outstanding playpark right nearby for those who are looking after their health in such weather.
