Wedding Maps occasionally features editorial contributions from experienced Pro Members who can offer genuine, venue-specific insight that helps couples plan better weddings. If you’re not a Pro Member yet, you can join here.

This is a selective program — submission does not guarantee publication, and all content is reviewed and edited by our editorial team.

Who Can Contribute

    • Only active Wedding Maps Pro Members may submit content

    • New contributors are limited to one article initially

    • Contributors whose content performs well may be invited to submit additional pieces

    • The program may be paused or limited at any time

What We’re Looking For

We prioritize content that serves couples and strengthens Wedding Maps’ venue-focused mission. The best contributions combine real experience with specific, actionable insight.

Ideal Topics

Venue-Specific Content

    • Photography considerations at a specific venue (lighting, layouts, timing)

    • Seasonal differences at a venue (winter vs. summer weddings)

    • Ceremony or reception logistics unique to a venue

    • Weather, sunset timing, or other situational factors

Regional & Localized Insight

    • How local weather patterns affect wedding planning in your market

    • Indoor vs. outdoor considerations for a specific region

    • Venue styles and trends unique to a geographic area

    • Engagement photography locations for a specific city or region

Practical, Situational Guidance

    • Rain plan strategies at outdoor venues

    • Guest flow and layout considerations for real spaces

    • Timing and logistics based on firsthand experience

Topics We Don’t Publish

    • Generic wedding advice (“How to Choose a Wedding Photographer”)

    • Promotional case studies or business spotlights

    • SEO-focused listicles or keyword-stuffed content

Content Standards

All submissions must meet these requirements:

Originality

    • 100% original and unpublished elsewhere

    • Must pass AI detection screening (we use ZeroGPT as one reference point)

    • Must pass plagiarism screening

    • No heavily derivative or lightly reworded content

Experience-Based Depth

    • Must reflect firsthand, real-world experience

    • Generic advice without venue- or situation-specific insight won’t be accepted

Audience Focus

    • Written for engaged couples, not photographers or industry peers

    • The question to ask: “Would this help someone planning a wedding at this venue?”

Length & Quality

    • Typical length: 800–1,500 words

    • Depth matters more than word count

Editorial Process

Wedding Maps retains full editorial control over all published content, including:

    • Final topic approval

    • Headline and subheading edits

    • Structural changes and rewrites for clarity, tone, or SEO alignment

    • Decisions to decline, delay, or remove content

We may reject submissions without detailed explanation. This isn’t personal — it’s about maintaining consistency and quality across the site.

Link Policy

    • One dofollow link to any page on your website, placed contextually within the article

    • Link must fit naturally within the content

    • Wedding Maps reserves the right to adjust link placement for readability

    • No additional links will be considered

Contributor credit with your name and studio also appears at the end of each article.

Image Requirements

    • Must be original work you own and have rights to use

    • No stock photography

    • Must be relevant to the venue or topic

    • Wedding Maps may resize, crop, or optimize as needed

High-quality, venue-specific images significantly strengthen submissions.

How to Submit

    1. Submit a topic proposal to contact@weddingmaps.com for approval before writing — include the venue, your angle, and why you’re qualified to write it

    1. Upon approval, write and submit your draft

    1. Respond to editorial feedback — revisions are normal

    1. Approved content is scheduled at Wedding Maps’ discretion

    • Participation is a privilege extended to Pro Members, not a guaranteed benefit
