FAQs

What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?

I love LOVE. More importantly, I was a Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator previously. My passion for the arts, graphic design but also the ability to stay calm and organized under pressure has brought me to this point in my life. I am able to maintain my vision but also stay cool and on focus when I need to be. Ultimately, I love what I do, and wouldn’t choose anything else to be my career!

How would you describe your photography style?

I like to think that I am assisted journalistic, almost documentary but not. I love documenting what I see around me, and what is really going on. However, if something is out of place, like some trash, I will pick it up, and continue on my way. Additionally for portraits, I will give prompts, but if I need to shift your arm a bit, or adjust where you are looking I will make those adjustments as well.

How do you ensure that your clients feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot?

I want my couples to feel comfortable at all times. This is a very big moment in their lives, so speaking with me ahead of time to make a timeline that is stress free always eases their mind. We don’t “do” stress on wedding day. I also help guide posing and reassure both of my couples that I am photographing them in their best light. If they want to see the back of my camera for reassurance, I don’t mind giving them a little peek!

How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the wedding day?

Capturing all the moments on their wedding day is easy when you can discuss these moments ahead of time. Any surprises for your guests should not be a surprise for your photographer. If I know something is happening, I will be sure I am there to document it. Additionally, it’s as simple as being present, and attentive to what is going on. That’s my job, to watch what’s unfolding and document it so my couples can relax, and enjoy their party!

What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?

My favorite part of the wedding day… oh gosh, I don’t have just one favorite. Let me start by saying the getting ready is so special. I am a Mother myself, so having Mom help her daughter put her jewelry on, has always been a moment where I key in and watch how Mom is reminiscing of the brides childhood, when she would help her get dressed. And here she is seeing her daughter enter a new stage in her life. That is just beautiful. Also, a lot of times Groom prep gets over looked. Men want to look good too, and I really love the moments before he see’s his person that he gets those jitters too. Even putting the shoes on feels like forever for them. Giving them that attention helps them feel good about them having their moment to shine as well. But of course, when the couple finally gets together, it’s wonderful seeing how they naturally come together as one. Their nerves fade away, and I, as the photographer get to document their love, I’m a fly on the wall, and it’s a wonderful experience and I find a certain pride knowing that they’ve trusted me to document these moments for them. At the end of the day, I get to hang out with their closest friends and family, and it’s fantastic. I really love the entire day.
