Jake Timms Photography
I’m a Cheshire wedding photographer and videographer, travelling across the UK for love. I work with couples who care deeply about how their day feels; those who value connection, atmosphere, and meaningful moments over anything staged or forced.
My approach is calm and unobtrusive, blending photojournalistic artistry with authentic documentary storytelling. I’ll gently guide when needed, but for the most part I step back and allow your day to unfold naturally. Capturing the emotion, the energy, and the in-between moments that often mean the most.
Whether you’re planning an elegant manor house wedding, a relaxed countryside celebration, or an intimate elopement somewhere wild, I’m there to document it with care, intention, and warmth. My work isn’t about perfection — it’s about truth. Images and films that feel timeless, cinematic, and deeply personal.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me out on a long run, exploring new landscapes, or wandering somewhere outdoors with my dogs. Always inspired by light, movement, and the beauty of real life.
At the end of it all, I want you to have more than beautiful photos and film. I want you to have memories that feel alive: a reminder of the love, how you felt, and how beautifully you began this new adventure together.

FAQs
What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?
My love for photography started long before I even knew it would become my life’s work. As a child, I carried a camera on every dog walk with my grandparents, capturing the rolling fields they called home. Those walks were filled with stories, laughter, and a sense of warmth I’ll never forget.
But what I wouldn’t give to have more photos of them now—to hold onto more than just memories in my mind. That realisation shaped everything I do today.
I don’t just take photos; I document the fleeting, heartfelt moments you’ll one day wish you could relive. The way your partner looks at you when they think no one’s watching, the laughter shared with loved ones, the quiet, in-between moments that mean the most.
That’s why I do this! To create something real, something timeless. Because one day, these photographs will be more than just pictures. They’ll be your memories made tangible.
How would you describe your photography style?
Your wedding photos should feel as unique and meaningful as your love story. That’s why I blend photojournalistic artistry with documentary-style storytelling—to capture moments as they naturally unfold. The result? Photos that look real, beautiful, and heartfelt, showcasing your connection with breathtaking authenticity. Whether it’s the joy in every laugh, tear, and stolen glance or the magic of golden hour, your gallery will be a timeless reflection of your day.
How do you ensure that your clients feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot?
From our first conversation to the final click of the camera, my priority is making sure you feel comfortable, confident, and fully present. I take the time to understand what matters most to you, helping you create a day that reflects your story. On the big day, I’ll help you feel at ease with natural prompts and gentle directions that bring out genuine smiles and emotions—no stiff poses, just real moments. The result? A stress-free experience where you can relax, enjoy every second, and trust that I’m capturing all the magic
How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the wedding day?
I want to show the world how they can have amazing emotional wedding photos through a stress-free wedding photography experience where they feel themselves and love what they see and are left feeling ecstatic with memories that perfectly capture every emotion of their day.
That starts with getting to know you properly. I want to understand not just the logistics but what actually matters to you — the relationships, the energy, the bits you’re most excited for, and even the things you might be nervous about. We’ll chat through your plans, your loved ones, and the feel you want from your day, so when I arrive, I’m not a stranger with a camera — I’m someone who’s genuinely tuned in to your wedding story.
On the day, I’m calm, relaxed, and quietly everywhere. I step in with gentle direction when it’s needed, but mostly I let things unfold naturally. It’s in those real, unposed moments that the magic happens — a squeeze of the hand, a nervous laugh, a happy tear sliding down someone’s cheek when they think no one’s watching.
I’m not there to force anything or follow a checklist. I’m there to see — really see — and to create images that feel like you. That way, when you look through your gallery, it’s not just beautiful photos. It’s your day, exactly as it felt, captured with love and honesty.
What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?
It’s hard to pick just one, because every wedding is unique — and I love being swept up in that. But if I had to choose, it’s those honest, in-between moments that get me every time. The quiet just before the ceremony when it all suddenly feels real. The way someone’s hands shake as they do up their buttons. The look between two people that says we’re doing this without a single word spoken.
I love the emotional undercurrent that runs through a wedding day — not just the big celebratory moments, but the ones that are felt in your chest and remembered forever. That’s what I’m drawn to. That’s what I’m there to catch.
It’s also the moment, often during golden hour or just after the ceremony, when we step away together — just the two of you — and everything slows down. It’s a breather, a pause in the whirlwind, and a chance to capture something real and raw and beautifully you. You’re not performing. You’re just being. And that’s when the magic happens.
From adventurous elopements on windswept cliffs to pulling out your best moves on the dance floor, I’m there for all of it — the quiet, the chaos, and everything in between.
And that’s exactly what your gallery reflects. Not just what your day looked like, but what it felt like — full of movement, emotion, joy, and connection. So when you look back, you’re not just remembering the moments; you’re reliving them.
