FAQs
What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?
I became an elopement photographer because of a deep love for two things: people and landscapes (Ok, three things if you count dogs – which often come along on our elopement adventures!). Elopement photography is the absolute combination of those two things. I also feel really strongly about empowering people to live their lives on their terms – and choosing to elope instead of having a big wedding is an awesome way to do that!
How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is largely documentary and focused on candid moments and big landscapes. I want my photos to tell the story of the day in a way that reminds them of how it all went down. On the editing from, I like my photos to look like “real life but better” and my edits tend to lean towards moodier vibes.
How do you ensure that your clients feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot?
Making sure my couples are having a good time is one of the most important things to me. It all starts with my approach to elopements. Even though my couples and I tend to spend 8 or so hours together on an elopement day, I do NOT approach this day as a long photoshoot! In my mind the purpose of an adventure elopement is to … have an actual adventure. We spend the day exploring beautiful places and I largely focus on candid photos over stiff poses. When we are doing couples portraits I have some tricks up my sleeve to get them interacting with each other in a more natural way. Basically my couples look like they’re having fun because they ARE having fun!!
What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?
My favorite part of the day is after all the “big” moments are over (ceremony, first look, etc.) and my couples just get to relax and soak it all in. That’s typically when that “OMG we DID IT!” feeling sets in and I just love that moment. It’s chill and low key and just a beautiful part of the day.
