A little about me… 

Alaska is home for me and probably always will be. I was born & raised in the rugged Alaska interior, and am currently based in Palmer! My partner of 13 years, Phillip, and I just recently made the transition from full time vanlife (after 7 years!) to full time cabin life! We completely designed and built our cabin ourselves in summer 2023, and remains one of my greatest life experiences. In my free time, you\’ll often find me skiing (downhill, bc, xc), hiking, road biking, and just being outside. I also love cozying up at a coffee shop or brewery. My favorite types of food are Thai and Japanese. My partner and I take pride in stocking our freezer as much as we can each year with meats and salmon we\’ve harvested ourselves. MCM design has my heart, and I\’m a huge supporter of other small businesses + creators! I received my Bachelors of Fine Art in Photography & Ceramics. Our passion for photography and adventure was born when we got the best gift ever – it was a camera! While exploring the Canadian Rockies we discovered the importance of freezing time and capturing the beauty around us. Our fascination with photography and the power of the light grew stronger when we learned and developed our skills of seeing the world through cameras. After receiving Nature Photography Awards, we decided to move forward into wedding photography and keep in the frame real connections and emotions between people in love.

Her unique perspective and fearless creativity enhance every project we undertake.

I am first, a husband and father. Creating beautiful images is my passion. I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph over 200 weddings and many hundreds of seniors. Each client is unique and gets my full attention to their personality, style, preferences, and ideas. The images I capture represent them.

I am on a consistent journey to learn and elevate my knowledge and skills. I do that by attending various classes, workshops and classes each year.

We are Jason + Emily Kan, photographers based around the Boston area shooting together as well as individually. We’ve been professionally photographing weddings since 2007 and have shot over 500 weddings. During that time we’ve been lucky enough to shoot in 40+ countries.

I consider myself a creative photographer who is always trying to capture those magical and unique moments during your big day. I really and truly enjoy taking pictures of people. For some, it\’s a morning jog or a swim for me that is photographing those moments, and watching you smile while you see the final product is the best feeling ever.

Owner and lead photographer Juliun Starks is a talented storyteller that specializes in capturing authentic moments of laughter and love throughout his clients’ celebrations. Juliun preserves precious memories to craft captivating photographic keepsakes that couples can cherish for decades to come.

Photography is our passion. I know! That sounds incredibly hokey, but for us it couldn’t be more true. We have both been full-time professional photographers for over 20 years. This is all we do. Literally. When we go on vacation we take photos of wildlife, when we go on hikes we take photos of flowers and clouds, in our spare time we shop for new lenses and watch tutorials to keep up with the latest Photoshop and Lightroom updates. And the rest of our time is spent capturing important memories for our clients.

This has been an awesome ride as we have been invited into people’s lives to celebrate their engagements and weddings, to document their growing families, to share their milestones, and even cover funerals as they grieve the loss of a loved one. We have cried and laughed and experienced so much we could write a book – and maybe we will someday. But for now we are still too busy photographing weddings and other life events for our clients.
