William Kain Park

The beautiful scenery and vastness of York’s William H. Kain County Park is a perfect place for relaxation! The 2 lakes, Lake Williams and Lake Redman, offer visitors plenty to do whether they’re looking to enjoy some time outdoors. Or to simply catch up on their reading at one of the several playgrounds available within the park boundaries. Surely, there really isn’t anything this area has that you won’t like about it!

The trails are a mixture of both challenging and easy terrain in this park. Hikers will enjoy the variety in this area, while mountain bikers get their adrenaline pumping on some steep tricky down hills. Also, Lake Williams offers one boat launch, and it has limited space for trailer parking. Gas motors cannot be used because of the no-drag zone that extends all along its length. While Lake Redman offers two boat launches. Gas motors may not be used too. But night boating opens year around. Further, this monument serves as a reminder to those who have lost their lives in alcohol and drug-related crashes. It also reminds visitors not only of the tragedy that can result from these accidents, but how preventable it is. Even if you’re just doing your part by being extra careful.
