Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Garden

The sprawling Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is a treasure trove! It is full of historical significance, natural beauty, and educational opportunities. The horticultural site began as the home to Native Americans, with vast agricultural fields of corn, beans, squash and cottonwood trees in what was then Rancho Santa Anita, following its acquisition by Elias Jackson “Lucky” Baldwin.

Later on, the state of California and Los Angeles County purchased the land in 1947. Now, it is much known as the historically famous Arboretum of California! Moreover, it is a timeless place for visitors, with winding paths leading away from ponds filled with water lilies. The gardens can be a perfect grounds for weddings too. Offering idyllic settings where guests are seated under trees that offer shade on sunny days. As well as a natural backdrop for ample of photo opportunities!

As this venue has a lot of locations to offer, you can begin with the Bauer Lawn, as it is surrounded by fountains. Then there’s the Queen Anne Cottage and the Meadowbrook Garden by the waterfall, which offers spectacular views of the San Gabriel Mountains. Also, there’s the Event Garden or Zen deck. Then, the Rose Garden, which exhibits lovely colors of roses in the white-painted gazebo. On the other hand, the arboretum has some covered places where you can celebrate with your guests. Or if you want, the Ayres Hall provides the ultimate indoor setting for you.
