Paint Mines Interpretive Park

In fact, a range of colors are visible in the clay, but one thing that stands out is their bright hue. The bands caused by oxidized iron compounds give them an extra burst and make them stand out from others even more so than before!

The Paint Mines Interpretive Park is a 750 acre park that sits in the northeast section of the county near Calhan. There are evidence to suggest that humans have dwelled here since 9,000 years ago!
