Adamson House

Rich in history, a visit to the Adamson House will leave you in full interest! The site is the epitome of Malibu archetypes. Located at an area where the Malibu Creek meets the Pacific Ocean, you will truly be at awe of the scenic view. In light of this, the place was once home to the Chumash Indians in the 18th century. Later on, the Rindge family owned the land, with all of the vast 17,000 acres and 20 miles of coastline.

After quite some time, the Rindge family’s daughter, Rhoda, and her husband, Merritt Huntley Adamson, incorporated the site to a beach house. Thus, the birth of the notable Adamson House museum! Additionally, it became known for its Spanish Colonial Revival style. Today, it is a National Historic Site in California! This historic manor is a unique destination for special occasions. All events held are scheduled from March through November only.

In fact, as a way to truly maintain the property, the ceremony and reception takes place on the enchanting oceanfront area. There, you’ll find the Sycamore Lawn, Front Courtyard, and the Rear Lawn by the star fountain. All of which encompasses a natural backdrop of the clear waters. However, no events shall take place inside the Adamson House. So, if you’d like to take a tour of the renowned property and see its tile collections, you can coordinate with California’s State Parks for a special docent program. Also, they recommend that couples should visit the house before the big day, so they could see the beauty of the place first-hand and to fully take in its remarkable history!
