Little Sahara Recreation Area

Little Sahara Recreation Area (LSRA) is a cool 60,000 acres of sagebrush flats. It is also a juniper-covered hills located in Juab County. You can find free moving sand dunes here too! For OHV enthusiasts, the recreation area outside of Salt Lake City offers a perfect getaway with its 700-foot tall Sand Mountain. As well as low lying dunes for beginners, and the White Sand Dune bowls to challenge more experienced riders.

Visitors to the LSRA can enjoy hiking in its 6,000-acre Rockwell Outstanding Natural Area. Fat biking on the dunes and sandboarding or skiing down Sand Mountain are also available for visitors who want an adventure with nature close at hand! In addition, there are two children’s play areas available at White Sands Campground and the Jericho Picnic Area. Also, motorized vehicles are not permitted inside these spaces for safety reasons. Moreover, the improved campsites offer the best amenities around with access to 40 toilets, two sources for potable water, and 16 miles of paved roads.
