What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?
I always had a love of portrait photography, but it wasn’t until I shot my first wedding that I was immediately hooked. What I love about photographing weddings is that it encompasses so many facets – candid moments, stunning details, editorial portraits, and heartfelt memories. It takes a certain skillset to be able to manage the fast paced nature of wedding photography while juggling communication, shooting in different lighting conditions, capturing candids, and all with a smile on your face. I truly love it all!
How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is fine art film editorial with a feeling that is still natural and true to our couples. Unlike a pure documentary photographer, I look for all the little details to ensure that my images are composed in an aesthetically beautiful way, however, I am still looking for candid moments and genuine reactions.
How do you ensure that your clients feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot?
Directing my couples is something that I pride myself in. I like to keep things moving, talk them through movements rather than stiff posing. I am rarely silent behind the camera as I am always providing encouragement so my couples never feel awkward. I have been told many times at the end of a photoshoot that my couples had so much fun, they were nervous at first but enjoyed themselves because of my direction.
