My wild beginnings as a photographer started at a creative agency Sacramento. After swimming in the waters of marketing and brutal sterile branding for a few years, I was determined to take a different direction with my photography.
I started Bear Beau to incubate my creative freedom and get back in touch with rad people experiencing a simple universal human phenomenon that drives all things; you know – that thing called LOVE?

My photography style is rooted in photojournalism, focusing on capturing candid and authentic moments as they naturally unfold. I strive to tell a story through my images, highlighting genuine emotions and connections rather than posed perfection. It’s all about preserving the raw, unscripted beauty of each moment, creating timeless visuals that feel as real as the memories they represent.

I ensure my clients feel comfortable and relaxed by combining guidance with genuine connection. I offer prompts and gentle direction to help them feel at ease, but I also prioritize being a great listener, understanding their unique personalities and vision for the shoot. With years of experience, I’ve honed the ability to create a calm and enjoyable atmosphere where clients can be themselves, resulting in authentic and beautiful images.

To capture all the important moments on a wedding day, I start by getting to know my couples and their priorities during our planning conversations. I create a detailed timeline and shot list to ensure no key moments or details are missed. On the day of the wedding, I stay organized and attentive, blending into the background to document the natural flow of events while keeping an eye out for candid, emotional moments. My experience and preparation allow me to anticipate and capture the memories that matter most.

My favorite part of the wedding day is the dancing in the evening. It’s the time when everyone lets loose and celebrates without a care in the world. I love capturing the pure joy, laughter, and energy as couples and their guests have an absolute blast with their friends and family. Those moments are so full of life and emotion—they make for some of the most fun and memorable photos of the day!
