Kirkjufell

Kirkjufell, also known as Church Mountain is an icon of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Also, the peak’s distinctively shaped form can be seen from miles away! The most photographed mountain in all of Iceland is a dramatic formation that lies on the country’s coast. On one hand, Kirkjufell is an unusual mountain, with its height and shape reminiscent of various things. Sometimes people compare it to a church steeple or even ice cream that has just been scooped out.
