The Fairy Glen

The Fairy Glen is a fairytale-like place. It is also located on the same peninsula as the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr. Known as Skye’s most famous landmarks. This breathtaking natural wonder was created many years ago by a landslip. Surrounded by small lochans, it is known to be popular for swimming during summertime!

The fairies have always been a part of Skye’s history, most notably with their involvement at Dunvegan Castle and the ‘Fairy Flag’. The Fairy Glen is a place where fairies are said to live, but there is no traced evidence for this. The small, picturesque village of Fairy Glen has been given its nickname for a reason. With all the beautiful glen-like scenery and streams that run through it, this place is certainly closer to a fairy tale than your typical town!
