What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?
Honestly, it started by accident. I worked with documental and landscape photography for years in South America. When Covid hit, i went back to my home country Portugal. I photographed a friend’s wedding per request, thinking It was clearly not the kind of photography for me. But by the end of the day, I was hooked. There was something about being surrounded by love, real emotion, and families coming together that just hit me. I realized weddings weren’t about perfection – they were about connection. And I’ve been chasing that ever since.
How would you describe your photography style?
Documentary, emotional, honest. I’m not there to stage your day – I’m there to capture it as it truly happens. The real moments, the ones you didn’t plan, the ones you might’ve missed. That’s what I’m drawn to. My focus is always on people, relationships, and how it all feels. It’s about Human connection.
How do you ensure that your clients feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot?
I keep things simple and human. I don’t direct much – I observe, move with the flow, and let you be yourselves. Before the wedding, I always take the time to get to know you and chat things through, especially during the pre-wedding session. That way, on the day, there’s already trust. I also know when to step back and when to step in – it’s all about making you feel safe to just enjoy the day.
How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the wedding day?
Experience helps, but instinct plays a big role. I’m always watching – not just the obvious moments, but the ones in between. I work with timelines and stay connected with your planner or coordinator, but I never rely only on the schedule. I’m constantly moving, reading the room, and anticipating emotions before they happen. My goal is to give you a gallery that tells the full story – not just what happened, but what it meant.
What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?
It’s that part right after the ceremony – when the couple walks out and everyone rushes in to hug them. There’s no structure, no posing, no filters. Just raw emotion, people crying, laughing, shouting, squeezing each other. It’s chaos in the best way. I love it because it’s real. That’s when everything feels most alive – and that’s when I’m in my element, catching the moments you won’t even realize happened until you see the photos.
