C Brown Photo

I’m Cindy. I love weddings …
… but not in a generic, fairy-tale kind of way. I love specific weddings, in all their individuality—the emotions, the excitement, the laughter, the tears, the couples holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes, flower girls bickering with each other, guests laughing and dancing, sparklers smoking and burning, and friends and family tearing up before, during and after the ceremony.

I’m a newspaper photojournalist turned documentary wedding photographer.

I’m also queer and friendly and queer-friendly. 🙂

FAQs

How would you describe your photography style?

Documentary meets street photography.

How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the wedding day?

My wife describes me as the love child of a racehorse and the Eveready bunny. On a wedding day, I prance around like a racehorse waiting to come out of the gate. Once I arrive on the scene of the wedding, I come out of the gate documenting every interesting moment, detail, interaction I see. And I keep on documenting, and photographing, and looking and running like the Eveready bunny until the end of the day.

What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?

Cake cutting is my favorite part of the day. The photos of cake cutting can be a blast. Plus, I love tasting all of the amazing cake flavors. Oh, and cupcakes. Cupcakes can be amazing. I didn’t realize how good they could be until I tasted a green tea cupcake at a recent wedding.
