Known Together

I’m Blake Thomas, the photographer behind Known Together, a wedding photography studio based in Upstate New York. I believe your story matters most. I care just as much about how your day feels as how it looks, and I’ve built this brand on trust, real connection, and the belief that wedding photography should always be about people first.

My approach centers around presence. Instead of staging stiff poses or rushing through a checklist, I focus on the energy of the moment. I call it the Free to Feel experience. It’s all about giving you the space to be yourselves, quiet nerves, big emotions, last-minute chaos, joyful tears, and full-on belly laughs. I’m not here to make your day look perfect. I’m here to capture it in a way that feels true to who you are.

What makes Known Together different is how much I care about getting to know you. I don’t just show up to take photos. I show up to really see you. To listen. To understand what matters most so I can tell your story with honesty and heart. That connection is what turns images into something that feels lived in, not just looked at.

My style blends documentary honesty with thoughtful artistry. It’s candid and emotional, often cinematic, but never overdone. I want your gallery to feel like your memories come to life. During the reveal celebration, couples have cried all over again looking through their photos because it brought them right back to those moments.

Known Together is for couples who value depth and meaning. It’s for those who care more about being present than following a timeline. If you want wedding photos that reflect the real, the messy, and the magical and you want a photographer who’s fully there with you every step of the way, I’d be honored to tell your story.

FAQs

What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?

I had health issues that forced me to slow down and reimagine what mattered. That’s when I picked up a camera and discovered photography. It quickly became more than a creative outlet. I realized how powerful it was to capture moments that hold meaning. I’ve always known I needed to do something with purpose, something that made people feel seen. Wedding photography allows me to create something lasting while being part of one of the most emotional, joyful days in a couple’s life. That’s a gift I never take for granted.

How would you describe your photography style?

My style is rooted in emotion and connection. It’s documentary in nature, with an artistic edge. I focus on real moments and natural interactions, not overly posed images. I use light and movement to help tell the story, but more than anything, I want your gallery to feel honest and personal. I want you to look back at your photos and remember exactly how it all felt.

How do you ensure that your clients feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot?

I guide my couples through a process designed to help them feel confident and at ease every step of the way. It starts with building a genuine connection so I understand who you are and what matters most to you. From there, I give you the freedom to be fully present while I focus on capturing authentic moments naturally. I make sure you feel prepared and supported throughout the experience. On the wedding day, you’ll feel confident knowing that everything is taken care of. And afterward, you’ll receive timeless keepsakes that reflect the story of your day.

How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the wedding day?

I take time before the wedding to understand your priorities and your relationships. I work closely with planners and review the full timeline so I know where to be and when. During the day, I stay present and observant. I pay attention to the details and emotion as they unfold, capturing the expected moments and the quiet ones that might otherwise go unnoticed. I am intentional with my time and always focused on telling the full story.

What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?

The reception is my favorite part of the day. It is when everyone lets go and the energy shifts into celebration. I love the dancing, the laughter, the heartfelt toasts. It is a mix of movement and emotion that allows for some of the most powerful, joy-filled images. That part of the day reminds me what all of this is really about.
