What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?
My journey to becoming a wedding photographer began when I was a video editor. I started taking photos of my teammates and rolling partners with a camera I had acquired for film school. As I delved deeper into the world of photography, I became fascinated by its various aspects, from framing and posing to lighting. These artistic rules allowed me to unleash my creativity in a way I never thought possible.
Gradually, I realized that my favorite artistic medium was light. Being able to manipulate light to create stunning images brought me immense satisfaction and joy, making me feel like a true artist. As I continued to hone my skills, I discovered that wedding photography was the perfect avenue to combine my love for storytelling, capturing emotions, and playing with light.
Wedding photography allows me to be a part of one of the most special days in a couple’s life, capturing their love story and creating unforgettable memories. This opportunity to immortalize their happiness through my art is what truly inspired me to become a wedding photographer.
How would you describe your photography style?
Our photography style can be best described as clean, creative, bold, and emotional. For portraits, we focus on delivering striking images with a crisp, modern aesthetic that highlights the unique personality of our subjects.
When it comes to wedding photography, our approach is inspired by the best aspects of contemporary photography. We strive to create a perfect blend of various styles, resulting in images that capture the essence of each couple’s love story with a touch of artistic flair. Our goal is to convey the emotions and energy of the wedding day through vibrant, compelling photographs that will be cherished for a lifetime.
How do you ensure that your clients feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo shoot?
To ensure that our clients feel at ease during their photo shoot, we begin by making sure we fully understand their vision and preferences. If needed, we also guide them in defining their vision so that they feel confident in the outcome. We believe that establishing this connection and trust with our clients is key to making them feel comfortable during the entire process.
During the shoot, while I may not be the most talkative, I focus on providing clear instructions and creating an intimate atmosphere where couples can feel like they’re on a date, enjoying the moment together. Tabitha, on the other hand, excels at engaging in conversation and communication, making our clients feel at ease with her warm, friendly demeanor.
We also pay close attention to any insecurities our clients may have, addressing them with sensitivity and reassurance. By listening to their concerns, we can tailor our approach to make them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
How do you ensure that you capture all of the important moments on the wedding day?
To ensure that we capture all the important moments on a couple’s wedding day, we begin by understanding their vision and priorities. We recognize that each wedding is unique, and every couple has different preferences. Therefore, we take the time to sit down with our clients and help them plan their day, offering suggestions to make sure that we capture the best photos of their most cherished moments.
On the wedding day itself, I make it a point to stay agile, moving around the venue to cover various angles and perspectives. At the same time, I always keep an eye on the couple, ensuring that I’m present and ready to capture any spontaneous, heartfelt moments that may arise. This approach allows us to provide comprehensive coverage of the wedding while still being available to our clients if they need us for anything.
What is your favorite part of the wedding day and why?
It’s difficult to choose just one favorite part of the wedding day, as there are so many incredible moments that I love capturing. The getting ready portion of the day is filled with emotion and anticipation, while the reception offers countless opportunities to catch people dancing and enjoying themselves. Additionally, the bridal session is a fantastic time to create beautiful, lasting memories together with the couple.
However, if I had to pick one favorite moment, it would be those rare opportunities to take the couple out for nighttime photos. These sessions allow me to play with my flashes and create striking images that simply aren’t possible during the day. It’s the chance to be truly creative and produce something unique that brings a special joy to my heart.
Ultimately, my favorite part of the wedding day is any moment that allows me to express my creativity and passion for photography, crafting unforgettable memories for the couple to cherish.
