Why is Pennsylvania perfect for my wedding?
Pennsylvania is filled with a rich history that transports visitors back in time. However, it’s not just the history of the state itself but also its variety of attractions and activities for families to enjoy together. Whether you’re looking for nature or nightlife, Pennsylvania will satisfy your interests!
Home to the Liberty Bell and Hershey’s Chocolate Company, Pennsylvania is also a great state for weddings. The Amish community combined with its proximity to major cities makes it an ideal location for couples wanting picturesque outdoor wedding photos or even indoor ones in unique locations like historic buildings.
The beauty of Pennsylvania is evident throughout the seasons, and each season has its own unique charm. In wintertime, snowfall creates a peaceful landscape where you can enjoy nature in peace. However, spring brings about vivid colors as leaves emerge from their buds through autumn when they become bright reds and oranges before falling back into dormancy for another year. These qualities make barns, farms, wineries, and lodges popular locations for weddings in this state.
The Lehigh Valley-Poconos area is known for its many romantic venues, which makes it a great place to have an intimate wedding. If you’re having a large guest list (150+) though, there may not be anywhere that can fit all of your guests in the Poconos. It’s best to plan early and reserve early if possible! While the Pocono mountains are filled with lovely bed and breakfasts, larger cities like Philadelphia or Pittsburgh have more luxurious hotels, including estate mansions.
Philadelphia is known as the “City of Brotherly Love”. Some refer to downtown Philadelphia as the heart of Philly. Just blocks from Independence Hall and Liberty Bell Center, you will find many great restaurants, museums, hotels and more for this historic city brimming with culture.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is an amazing city that provides endless opportunities for celebrating your special day. Its skyline boasts distinct attributes, including 30 skyscrapers and incredible geological features like the Three Sisters Bridges which make this a dream destination for photographers. In fact, there are so many museums, parks and cultural districts you could spend weeks exploring all of its unique qualities! Whether it’s a big or small party, a modern or traditional wedding ceremony, Pittsburgh has something to offer to every couple.
Off-peak season in Pennsylvania is a great time to visit, especially during the winter months from January through March. You can negotiate with hotels and restaurants for lower prices because there are fewer visitors at this time of year. However, in the Pocono region where skiing is popular, winter brings ski enthusiasts to the lodges. This means better venue prices in warmer months when fewer people visit!
